If you have any plans for business ventures, serious relationships, or bank heists this week, you may wish to read this first.
This week’s reading is generally positive, but comes with a warning of sorts.
The first card is The Tower. One of the major players of the Major Arcana. The Tower is Power. Pure, unfocused, omnipotent, non-sentient Power. Inverted like this, there are a variety of ways to interpret it, but this week I get the sense that the idea here is Power going out rather than coming in. It’s a case of you directing your energies instead of absorbing them–like riding a motorcycle as opposed to refueling it. The power, the fuel, is the same, it just gets used instead of being in potentia.
The second card is the warning I mentioned. We’ve seen the Five of Swords before, and its indication of success through cunning behind the scenes. Inverted like this, we’re being told that whatever you do, do it out in the open because skulduggery is not going to work. At least, not this week. Letting the freak flag fly isn’t going to be 100% successful either; the Five of Swords always embodies the idea of victory short of total, so keep that in mind as well.
The final card confirms these ideas. The Page of Coins is the entry-level court card for the suit. A small cog, but still part of the engine, and a more important part than most of the others. He holds aloft the symbol of prosperity and knowledge with an ease so casual that it’s almost insulting. Given the rest of the reading, we’re being told that while the success gained through the application of Power might be less than overwhelming, it sure as shootin’ will be comfortable.
And really, isn’t that what you want? Count your blessings, make your own luck, and I’ll see you next week.
