I’m a little pressed for time this week—aren’t we all—and so I’m going to be a tad more brief than usual for this week’s reading.
Fortunately, it’s pretty straightforward to begin with.
See The Empress. Now, this card is a card of power and authority, but in a gentle, subtle way. Still very much in charge, with a casual, but incontrovertible, parental authority. The Empress holds sway over the temporal and the spiritual with ludicrous ease. Inverted like this, the card still means all of that…but in a bad way.
A look at the Strength card tells us that the bad juju from the first card is very likely to piss you off. In this instance, I see a warning, a reminder, an instruction, to maintain your composure. You have the power, intellectually and spiritually, to keep your emotions from running amok and tearing up things you might regret being torn up. It’s up to you to use it.
If you do, the Knight of Coins indicates a high level of success and benefit. The troubles crushed underfoot by the Champion (and all the Knightly discipline), he offers reward in a big way. It’s up to you to take it.
There, nice and simple. And good advice in general, really. If you get pissed off, don’t lose your shit and you’ll wind up better off than when you started.
Possibly on Christmas. I understand that is a day of reward in some societies.
That’s it for this week! Come back next Tuesday and I might let you know about New Year’s.
