For Zen Biker Tarot Tuesday this week, I asked, “What kind of a week is the world going to have?” And the answer is…not bad, really.
It might not look it at first, with an inverted Lovers card right out of the gate, but the rest of this tells a tale of inner courage and solid thinking, of regrowth and healing with a glimmer of hope at the end. Hey, there are worse ways for a week to go.
Let me break this down for you.
As noted, the inverted Lovers card leads the pack (so to speak). Pretty self-explanatory: this week does not begin on a note of harmony and concord. If this were a horoscope I’d tell you not to start any new relationships just yet if you can help it. The world in general is going to be paranoid and selfish, angry even. But in all these evils is the seed of great good, if only you look for it.
Look at the second card, Strength. There are two kinds of strength, physical and spiritual. Both kinds have their place, their use, and their value. The raging animal in the foreground of this card is the strength of the body, of the passions. It is held in check by the spirit. But notice: the spirit is not forcing the passions to stay in check, not fighting for control. The sense I get from this card today is that the spirit is just hanging on to the passions so they don’t do any harm. With love and understanding, not fear and anger. This is a more impressive kind of strength.
The disharmony in the first card opens an opportunity to the power in the second. This is a good week to look into yourself for your spiritual strength, because it’s a good week to find it.
Next we have the Seven of Swords. There are two ways to read this card. First you could see it as a preparation for war, leaving weapons within easy reach, backup after backup just in case…but that’s not how this wants to be read today. No, this card isn’t leaving weapons…it’s picking them up. Using the strength from the previous card, the world gathers its resources.
To what end? The Two of Coins is a card of balance, a concept of prime importance to a biker. It’s pretty darn important to the world at large. The balance of forces is what keeps you from tumbling ass over teakettle in all your endeavors. It’s not easy, especially since those forces you’re juggling are only in your hands (and therefore your direct control) for an instant until they have to be up in the proverbial air. But off in the background is a little bit of hope for prosperity. Maybe it’s magic: if you can keep juggling until your ship comes in, that ship will be full of untold riches. So keep juggling. It has to be done, on and on, over and over. It takes strength and resources to keep juggling like that.
So, to wrap this all up and stick it in a saddlebag, the world is in a state of wholesale higgledy-piggledy and there’s going to be a lot of isolation and lone-wolfing. Which makes this a perfect time to reach down inside for the power it takes to pull yourself together and keep your world moving. If you can do that, there is a possibility, not a guarantee, but a possibility, that it will all work out for the best. If you can just keep it up.
That does it for this week, and at the very least I hope I’ve given you something to think about. Come back next Tuesday for another Zen Biker Tarot Forecast.
