It has been over a year since I delivered a sermon here. I did not ascend the top of a mountain and study at the feet of an Ascended Master.
I descended into the depths, and took a long look at myself, and what I was doing here. Both needed some tweaking; the experience has brought me a new clarity. Evolution is a marvelous process, and thank goodness for a quarter century of Zen, because without that, I’d have made an even bigger mess.
Instead, I worked, wrote a novel, studied, started learning Japanese and Russian, got a haircut, and decided to start a new religion. Or at least a “Spiritual Movement,” since religions require a lot more maintenance than I’m really willing to exercise. Look, I haven’t been idle, is what I’m getting at.
At one point I sacrificed myself on a plywood altar, which delayed a number of my plans, and I still have much to learn (such as whether or not resurrection is better than reincarnation), but one of the underlying reasons for having this blog, maintaining the discipline of holding myself accountable to myself, is more important than ever, so I’d like to thank all four of my readers for their patience. Sermons will resume here on Saturdays. I have new plans for my YouTube channel, which will take a bit longer to implement.
It’s good to be back. That is the Truth, and Truth Rides a Motorcycle.
